With parents who are experts in their fields and five older siblings, Liliane Aggett received the highest standard of education from her family from an early age, and at the age of 15 she’s now considered a prodigy in all fields.

However, because all her family members thought,「Since this child is so adorable and has such wonderful talents, she will grow up to be selfish if I don’t at least be hard-hearted and strict with her,」they had never once praised her.

One day, a girl, Nina, a distant relative, suddenly became her sister-in-law due to circumstances, and Liliane, in despair at seeing how all her family members, who had never accepted her no matter how hard she tried, lavished praise on Nina, left a note and disappeared.

Liliane has lied about her identity and changed her name in her new home, but she has incredibly low self-esteem because she grew up taking her family’s words,「It’s natural to be able to do this,」to heart.「I learned that this is the lowest level you should be able to do…,」she says, unknowingly breaking the hearts of those around her to bits.

The remaining family members finally realize that「the whole family, including themselves, had never once praised Liliane」…

This is a tale where the author contrives a seemingly plausible yet somewhat absurd reason for the main character (MC) to flee. Initially, the MC's family's concern and remorse are central to the plot during the first 30 chapters. However, as the story progresses, the "white lotus" character takes over, shifting the blame onto everyone except herself.

The climax of the story disappointingly lacks depth, with the MC's revenge against her family feeling weak and unconvincing. To make matters worse, the white lotus is portrayed as benefiting from the MC's actions simply because the latter's departure was triggered by her. While gratitude may be understandable, the white lotus's past transgressions, including almost causing harm and lying, are conveniently overlooked.

Frankly, the MC's storyline isn't compelling either. The repetitive nature of "Oh look, MC did something again" becomes monotonous, making it evident that the author assumes readers will accept the MC's genius without much exploration or development.

I mostly skipped over the MC's parts in the middle and didn't feel like I was missing any significant plot points.

At all costs, steer clear from this. The author skillfully creates an emotionally charged sense of regret in the first eight chapters, but abruptly drops that plotline when the girl leaves. The remainder of the book turns into a bland, clichéd, and one-dimensional portrayal of a slow-paced life fantasy. There's no room for regret, character growth, or romance; just平淡 existence.

The occasional point-of-view shifts, which are extremely rare, to explore family regret, come across as hollow and devoid of genuine emotion, bordering on unintentional comedy. If you're seeking a story filled with regret, this is not the right choice. My only regret is having wasted my time reading this disappointment.
